DOS menu at startup

By Using the Msconfig Utility in Windows XP http://support.microsoft.com/? id=310560 ========= This posting is provided "AS IS" with no warranties, and confers no rights. Has also happend in control panel ,,, On XP and run Norton AntiStuff and ADsubtract, SpySubtract and CheckIt86 (caps not my idea) .

slow boot up
Go to Start/Run, type in msconfig and select OK. This will open the configuration editor. Select the Start Up tab and see what is loading there. This started happening on my Win98 machine right after installing TweakUI from the Win 98 CD, although it didn't happend last time I installed TweakUI on this machine

How Can I increase my resources
Go to Start | Run and type: msconfig and press <Enter or click OK. Go to the Startup tab. See if you can identify any suspicious programs. If you can, uncheck it, I have reinstalled Internet Explorer 6.0 many times with no change. Please If this has happend to you please give me some pointers. Thanks alot.

Xp Safe Mode Help
I assume you typed in "msconfig" in Start/Run (if using Win98) to see what's running at startup? If this has happend to you, could you please respond and let me know how you resolved this? Run msconfig from the start menu run line and select the startup tab. remove the check from each entry and restart. If this helps, add a check or two and restart, CTRL-ALT-DEL says "ExtStub not responding" Question: Obvious... what the heck has happend and how do I fix it plus, how do I enable bootlog.txt?

missing .DLL files
This is what happend: Each time my computer starts, it starts with the system infos ( in waht I call the" dos mode"), after a while the WINDO98 icon comes up, When I went to RUN>MSCONFIG>STARTUP and checked off some of the programs on my PC to speed up rebooting time.Then I saw unde rthe the AUTOEXE.

I have 6 programs loading at Windows startup When i opened Windows today i found only 4 programs the other two, disappeared but already loaded into the memory. I tried running "msconfig" To Disable all proccesses at startup and enable them again. But nothing new happend still have the same program.

Start Menu problems.
I went in to msconfig and chose /SAFEBOOT. When I restarted the computer, nothing happend AT ALL!! The BIOS stuff did not even come up! So now, I cannot do anything and I have no idea how to get back into my computer. I tried pressing all of the normal BIOS config buttons (F2, Del, etc.) and I still get nothing.

Slow Computer
You may want to go into msconfig (start -> run ->msconfig) Select the startup tab and try disabling all startup services. You should try to make an attempt to make sure the machine is clean and it isn't malware being the problem. At least this would eliminate some possibilities and point it more at hardware.

Check the startup (Start-Run-MSCONFIG-Startup tab) for any unknown items if it is reset on reboot.
